To the south and back…

I have just came back from my trip to the south coast. Originally this time of the year was reserved for family trips but since my dad & mom decided to come a little bit later than usual and since I wasnt about to let my annual leave go to waste by staying in the city, I ended up having trips with my mates instead.
Actually this wasnt all that unplanned. We have been thinking of doing a little version of ‘road trip’ for quite a while and this was the best time for all of us to go without having to forgo our life commitment too much. And it turned out to be quite an exciting journey.
It was a long drive from Sydney to Bega but it was worth is as we witnessed some of God’s marvelous works of landscapes and richness of nature during the drive.
It somehow reminds me of how people sometimes could get so clouded by the idea of arriving at the destination as fast as possible without considering that they could have missed the most important and precious elements they could have: the journey.
I know it is not easy to focuse on the journey, especially when it feels like a very long road and repetitive. We then sometimes try with our own might to have an ‘exciting’ shortcut like trying to winning a lottery in exchange of forgoing the probably-20-years of journey of our lives that we should take in order to make us, well, us.
I’m glad to be back in Sydney. I went to Bondi this afternoon to ‘get my sanity back’ and get myself up and go and back to my ‘normal’ life. And in a few days my dad and mom will be in Sydney and it is going to be a blast!
